As of 2019, the town of Staffanstorp will have a new elder-care facility devoted to care of dementia patients. The new center, which will be called Villa Roos, Park is the result of a cooperative effort between Ambea-Vardaga and Roos vård- och boende Fastighets AB (Roos Care and Living Properties AB).

Construction of the new facility will begin in early summer 2017. Villa Roos Park will comprise 63 apartments, a large garden and other areas such as a glassed-in sun room. Services will focus on tailored, specialized care for elderly with dementia, and this approach will be reflected in the facility’s design and interiors.

“At Villa Roos Park, we will create a competence center in dementia care, and will serve as a resource for all of Skåne. We are very much looking forward to welcoming new residents from both Staffanstorp and other municipalities in the region,” says Ulla Tansen, Business Area Manager for Vardaga.

“A very positive aspect here is that Staffanstorp Municipality has implemented the Act on the System of Choice in the Public Sector (LOV), which opens opportunities for citizens to make more choices in their care,” Tansen adds.

“The municipality is very pleased that Staffanstorp will be home to a new elder-care facility. It is essential that older residents can feel secure in the knowledge that they can have a home in a high-quality living facility that’s adapted to their needs,” says Christian Sonesson, Chair of the City Executive Board and Mayor of Staffanstorp.

“We’re thrilled to work together with Vardaga to build a state-of-the-art care facility in one of Staffanstorp’s most attractive places – the beautiful Roos Pond area. Our goal is to create inviting, open and airy architectural spaces in symbiosis with the natural features of the surroundings. We plan to build a beautiful, functional elder-care facility with 63 apartments, a guest apartment, spa, garden plots for residents, a sun room and much more. The living areas will be designed and decorated according to current research on the health requirements of elderly persons, both now and in the future. Villa Roos Park is not intended to feel like an institution; we plan to offer residents a pleasant and stimulating environment, both indoors and out,” says Marcus Jönsson, CEO of Roos vård- och boende Fastighets AB.
