SCOTTSDALE, AZ, Oct. 2, 2012 -- American Traffic Solutions (ATS), the largest provider of road safety camera programs in North America, is pleased to unveil the most comprehensive online database of photo enforcement legal decisions ever assembled in one place. The new website, www.safetycameralaw.com, is a collection of more than 25 years of legal decisions from courts around the country. Available to all ATS customers, the database will serve as “one stop shop” for legal rulings and opinions on a multitude of issues.

Through the years, courts at every level have almost unanimously upheld the legality and constitutionality of photo enforcement.  Now, the precedent set by those rulings is available online at www.safetycameralaw.com. Decisions on everything from why courts say police have the authority to use red-light and speed safety cameras to issue tickets, to why a city can use cameras to catch traffic violators without offending a person’s constitutional rights, to why state laws can cast a red-light running violation as a non-moving violation are available in this searchable database.

To aid visitors in their query, data is organized by state and by issue. Selections open quickly and offer both professional summaries and original documents. For convenience, visitors may view their selections in a pdf or interactive format.

“It is the goal of American Traffic Solutions to make sure the facts about the legality and constitutionality of red-light and speed safety cameras are readily available,” said ATS general counsel George Hittner. “We are confident visitors will find this resource helpful and easy to navigate, and look forward to updating and expanding its archives in the years ahead.”
