AMX Introduces Modero X Series

AMX, the leading manufacturer of unified control and automation solutions, has unveiled the groundbreaking new Modero X Series family of frameless, panoramic and widescreen touchpanels. Offering an intuitive user experience and a truly ergonomic design, the Modero X Series redefines touchpanel technology by giving users a new 'control surface' on which to perform multiple activities, all at the same time.

Putting a new perspective on the concept of touchpanel design, the Modero X Series combines edge-2-edge glass and a low-profile, to deliver a more usable space and a richly engaging user experience. First to be released will be the panoramic models which will be available in both a 20.3", measuring an impressive 18.7" long by 7.75" tall with over 145 square inches of usable control surface; and a 19.4" which measures an equally impressive 18.7" wide by 5.15" tall and delivering over 96 square inches of usable control surface.

Both 20.3" and 19.4" models will be available as table-top as well as portrait and landscape in-wall models. The table-top models are specifically designed to be very low profile to minimise the possibility of the touchpanel obstructing the user's view. The wall models can be effectively used in podiums or outside conference rooms to provide a room scheduling or digital signage interface, or simply another way of communicating with building personnel. In portrait mode, the Modero X Series display offers a longer control surface, creating a cutting-edge look with limitless interactive audiovisual options and meets a wide array of height installation requirements.

To support an even wider range of applications, three additional Modero X Series sizes will be available in 2012. The 5", 7" and 10" models will feature an impressive 16x9 aspect ratio and include the same advanced technologies as the panoramic models.

The Modero X Series is hardware-ready to employ the very latest technologies. An integrated high-definition camera for video chat and conferencing, Bluetooth and USB external phone connections, high-definition video streaming and support for Near Field Communications technologies are just a few of the many advanced features that make the Modero X Series stand out from the competition.

"While the Modero X Series is a radical departure from conventional touchpanels, we didn't just stop there," explains Kevin Morrison, Managing Director, AMX Europe. "Personalising the user experience is always paramount at AMX, as is including technologies like NFC. Although NFC technology is just beginning to appear on the market, we are including it now, as standard, and this is indicative of our anticipation of future integration with personal mobile devices."
