Altia signs cooperation agreement with the renewed Helsinki Olympic Stadium
Shared moments, powerful emotions, new experiences – enabling these is not only the goal of the newly inaugurated Helsinki Olympic Stadium, but also at the heart of Altia's business. With their cooperation agreement, Altia partners up with Finland’s largest event arena to create memorable encounters and strive towards ambitious sustainability goals.
Under the cooperation agreement between Altia and the Helsinki Olympic Stadium, Altia's wines and spirits will be sold exclusively at all licensed premises at the stadium. Altia is a leading Nordic alcoholic beverage company with a strong sustainability focus: minimizing environmental impacts and responsible production are at the core of Altia’s extensive product portfolio.
“The renewed Olympic Stadium is an attractive meeting place for residents of the city and visitors both during and outside events. Altia is an excellent partner for the venue, as we want to support the development of a modern, responsible Nordic drinking culture through better drinking experiences,” says Kari Kilpinen, SVP, Finland & Exports at Altia.
Altia is a forerunner in responsibility in its industry, and working towards a more circular economy and carbon neutrality are common goals for both partners. The Olympic Stadium supports the City of Helsinki's Carbon-neutral Helsinki 2035 Action Plan through comprehensive waste recycling and energy-efficient solutions. The stadium's circular economy is supported by, among other things, the recyclability of Altia's product packaging. Altia's own Chill Out wines, which are offered at stadium events, are packaged in environmentally friendly PET plastic bottles that are 100% recyclable and have a 40% smaller carbon footprint compared to glass bottles.
“Altia's responsibility and environmental goals are in line with the operations and goals of the Olympic Stadium. As a partner, Altia also supports the operations of the renovated stadium and helps us create meaningful encounters for Finnish and international guests alike,” says Marju Paju, Marketing and Communication Director at the Olympic Stadium.
"Environmental responsibility, a focus on quality and the creation of experiences are also key elements of our operations at the stadium," says Kristiina Ramirez, Key Account Manager at Compass Group, which is responsible for the stadium's food and drink services. “Altia’s products offered at Bistro Stadium and at major events fit well with the Nordic flavors we offer and support our responsibility principles,” Ramirez adds.
