Washington's Lake Quinault Lodge is hosting a very Olympic Peninsula Christmas

Lake Quinault Lodge is hosting a uniquely Olympic Peninsula Christmas this year complete with a visit from Santa on his llama-driven sleigh.

“We don’t have any reindeer in Quinault, but we do have llamas,” says Hiedi Olson, manager at Lake Quinault Lodge. “They are Santa’s preferred mode of transportation when he visits the lodge on Christmas Eve.”

The family-style Christmas at Lake Quinault Lodge starts on Christmas Eve with Santa’s arrival at 6 p.m. Children can take their photos with Santa and his llama before Santa reads “The Night Before Christmas.” After story time, chestnuts will be roasted for families to enjoy around the lodge’s iconic fireplace, or one of the two Christmas trees.

On Christmas Day, the lodge is hosting a Christmas feast with three meal options:

Traditional Christmas dinner: featuring ham and turkey and an assortment of sides including garlic mashed potatoes and stuffing.

Lake Quinault Christmas dinner: with prime rib and baked Northwest salmon and the side dishes from the traditional Christmas dinner.

Roosevelt Christmas Dinner: for those who cannot decide, this option allows for the choice of two of any the proteins: ham, turkey, prime rib or baked salmon and sides.

Dinner will be served from 2-7 p.m. with seatings every 45 minutes. Feast options are priced between $26-37 for adults and $12-15 for children. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 360-288-2900.

Families are also welcome to open their Christmas presents around the lodge’s two Christmas trees.  Space is still available at the lodge on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Book your room by calling 888-896-3818 or by visiting www.OlympicNationalParks.com.
