Assemblin carries out climate-smart installations in a new district in Uppsala
Assemblin has signed a new agreement with Peab and Vasakronan regarding energy installations in the “Hjärta” building in Uppsala's new district “Södra City” (Sweden).
The aim is a sustainable district with offices, housing and meeting places where cutting-edge technical solutions will contribute to Södra City becoming a role-model in sustainable urban development. The Hjärta facility comprises almost 20,000 square meters of rentable area divided into two buildings with a shared entrance and lobby with a restaurant, café, meeting rooms as well as a bicycle room. One building will be a hotel with eight floors, and the other will have six-floor offices. The entire facility will be environmentally certified according to LEED Platinum.
Assemblin contributes with technical expertise following the “Energy Balance” cooling-heat pump concept. “Energy Balance” is a concept including design, automation, monitoring and building integration.
“Energy Balance is about circulating energy locally and only supplying the energy that cannot be balanced. We do this with a reversible cooling-heat pump that uses natural refrigerant, CO2, which provides a future-proof and climate-smart energy solution," commented Fredrik Strengbohm, Head of the Cooling business at Assemblin Ventilation.
Assemblin is one of few players who master the technology and can take responsibility for delivery and function in all parts.
“We have made several installations in Sweden and Switzerland for more than five years and have proven the performance and function of the concept,” commented Håkan Ekvall, CEO of Assemblin Ventilation, EVP.
The first move-in will be Scandic Hotel in April 2028, followed by office tenants moving in successively.
