New underground ventilation assignment for Assemblin
Assemblin Ventilation will be responsible, on Skanska’s behalf, for installing ventilation at two new underground stations on the Stockholm Metro in Barkarby (Municipality of Järfälla).
The Stockholm Metro network is being expanded by, among other things, extending the blue line from Akalla to Barkarby. On behalf of Region Stockholm´s administration for expanded subway, Skanska will install complementary mains and tunnel systems on the extension, and Skanska has now commissioned Assemblin Ventilation to design and install the ventilation systems in the 4 kilometre long tunnels between Akalla and Barkarby as well as the two new stations at Barkarby and Barkarbystaden.
“Assemblin has extensive experience with underground ventilation installations, which can be somewhat challenging. Strict climate requirements have also been set for this project, while indoor comfort must also be safeguarded 30 metres below ground level. We are very pleased to have secured this assignment and we aim to design really good solutions with Skanska and contribute to a beneficial process,” says Håkan Ekvall, President and Business Area Manager of Assemblin Ventilation.
