Kuntien Tiera Oy has awarded Atea a contract to be the sole supplier of IT products and services sold through the Tiera web shop. Kuntien Tiera Oy was established in 2010 as a purchasing organization for Finnish municipalities and public sector organizations. The Tiera web shop is the largest channel for procuring IT products and services in Finland.

The product range covers PCs, mobile phones, printers, audio/video solutions, software, servers, storage and related services.

Atea has sold IT products and services to municipalities through the Tiera webshop under an interim agreement for approximately 2 years. Atea had previously been awarded the contract by Kuntien Tiera Oy, but the decision was challenged in court by a competitor, and a new tender process was required.

The agreement has a term of four years. Based on current sales under the interim agreement, Atea expects approximately 45 M€ in annual revenue from the contract.

“We are very pleased to continue supplying IT products and services to the Finnish public sector through the Tiera webshop. Atea is committed to providing a superior customer experience to municipalities and other public organizations which purchase under this agreement,” commented Juha Sihvonen, Managing Director, Atea Finland.

The decision to award the contract to Atea may be appealed during the next two weeks, according to public procurement regulations in Finland.
