Charges withdrawn against Managing Director in Atea Denmark

Morten Felding, Managing Director of Atea A/S in Denmark, had been charged in the widely reported corruption case in Denmark. The primary content of the charge was that Felding did not act to stop a trip to Dubai. The public prosecutor in Denmark has now withdrawn the charge.

“Since the summer of 2015, Morten Felding has been central to our own work and in collaboration with the Danish police in investigating how some previous employees had undertaken actions which are in conflict with Atea’s internal policies, and for which they are now under prosecution. For Morten Felding and for Atea, the charge has been burdensome. I am therefore very pleased to inform that the charges have been withdrawn because the Danish police have not found that Morten Felding acted in violation of the law,” says Atea Group CEO Steinar Sønsteby.

Atea ASA has since the summer of 2015 been transparent and clear that actions had been undertaken in Atea Denmark at an earlier time which are unacceptable, in conflict with the company’s internal rules, and which may be in violation of the law. The withdrawal of charges demonstrates that the current management of Atea was not involved in these actions.
