Shell award a new rig to Augean’s existing Integrated Drilling Waste Management contract based on exceptional performance
In 2013, Shell awarded Augean North Sea Services an Integrated Drilling Waste Management contract that included within the service provision offshore containment of drill cuttings for the Noble Hans Deul that is on contract to Shell.
The performance expectations were set high right from the start as Augean North Sea Services first
involvement after the installation and commissioning phase was to provide containment services for a challenging well programme that included 16”, 12.25”, 8.5” & 6” that would all utilise Oil Based
Drilling Fluids.
With a crew of 6 men (3 per shift) Augean North Sea Services safely & successfully contained utilising an 8-Bay skip loading station in the first full 24hrs of open hole drilling 3258ft of OBM cuttings during the 16” section on-board the Noble Hans Deul, the drilling rates were pushed to maximum throughout and the Augean North Sea Services team and equipment were never fully stretched, completing the 16” Section without any lost time.
The Augean North Sea Services offshore team has and continues to receive fantastic feedback from the rig team. (Formal FPAL feedback was received from the Shell Offshore Drilling Supervisor who was on-board for 16” Section, with all the scores between 8-10) This is viewed as exceptional performance for OBM containment during 16” hole section drilling.
In February 2014 Shell announced that the Ocean Patriot (due into the UK Q4 2014) contract for Integrated Drilling waste Management was awarded to Augean North Sea Services. Augean North Sea Services can be very proud of their offshore team’s achievements.
