Avarda and Engelsons Form New Partnership to Strengthen the Customer Payment Experience Across Europe

Stockholm – 2025.12.19 – Avarda, a leading provider of white-label payment solutions, is pleased to announce that Engelsons, a well-established retail company known for its quality outdoor and workwear, has chosen Avarda Checkout as its new payment solution provider in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Germany.

The partnership enables Engelsons to offer a modern and customer-centric checkout experience, including all relevant local payment methods, while ensuring that customers remain within the Engelsons brand environment throughout the entire purchase journey — from the first transaction to settlement.

Ensuring brand identity

Engelsons has managed online payments for many years and wanted a partner that could support both scalability and a strong customer experience. Avarda’s white-label model ensures that the checkout remains fully aligned with Engelsons’ brand identity and customer journey, which was a key factor in the decision.

Future-Proof Platform through Viskan

Engelsons uses the Viskan e-commerce platform, built for frictionless upscaling and the ability to handle very high traffic and order volumes. The integration has been carried out in close collaboration between Viskan and Avarda. The partnership brings together Viskan’s deep expertise and Avarda’s flexible payment technology to deliver a seamless, scalable solution tailored to Engelsons’ growth ambitions in the Nordics and beyond.

Expansion into Germany through Ratepay partnership

As part of the launch, Avarda is expanding the checkout into the German market. Through Avarda’s partnership with Ratepay, the checkout will include local payment options such as SEPA Direct Debit and invoice — both of which are among the most preferred payment methods in Germany.

According to EHI's report, SEPA Direct Debit accounts for around 45% of online transactions, while invoice payments represent approximately 50%, making them the second most used payment method among German consumers.

Comprehensive Payment and Shipping Selector

Avarda enables Engelsons to offer the right payment methods and shipping choices in every market, powered by Avarda’s tailor-made, integrated shipping selector. The Avarda Checkout also includes modern Pay Now options such as mobile wallets, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, processed by Checkout.com and available across all four markets.

For Pay Later, Engelsons' customers can choose between invoice, installment plans across the Nordics, and in addition, new Pay in 3 option in Germany.

Best-in-class B2B payments

The partnership also covers B2B payments through Avarda’s partner Two, a leading B2B payment provider. This ensures a unified and efficient checkout experience across both B2C and B2B segments, supporting Engelsons’ continued growth in the business customer market.
