One-day-event brings together an impressive array of BAFTA, Oscar® and Emmy® winning and nominated editors

London, 24 June 2013 – Following the launch of Avid Media Composer® 7, the industry’s preeminent nonlinear editing solution, Avid further pledges its commitment to the professional video editing community by becoming platinum sponsor for the American Cinema Editors (ACE) society’s EditFest London. Taking place at the Ray Dolby Theatre in Soho on Saturday 29 June, EditFest London brings together a world-class line-up of editors.

On the day an impressive roster of BAFTA, Oscar® and Emmy® award-winning and nominated Avid Media Composer® editors including Chris Dickens, A.C.E. (Les Misérables, Slumdog Millionaire) and Eddie Hamilton, A.C.E. (X-Men: First Class, Kick Ass 2) will share their experiences.

EditFest London marks the first time the event has travelled outside of the US in its five year history. ACE launched EditFest in 2008 in Los Angeles, in response to a need to put the industry’s top editors in conversation with other editors and post-production professionals. By popular demand, EditFestNY was added to its agenda in 2010. Considered the premier editing event of the summer in the US, the move to London is part of ACE’s efforts to provide programming and activities for a global audience. EditFest is designed for professional as well as aspiring editors, post-production team members, content creators, production execs and those who love the art and craft of editing.

Tom Cordiner, vice president of international sales at Avid, said: “With Media Composer 7 launching the same week as EditFest London takes place, it’s a big week for the local professional video editing community. We’re excited to be a sponsor of this great event which enables professional and aspiring editors to hear from a wealth of award-winning editing talent.”

Avid Media Composer 7 empowers the industry’s top professionals to edit with 64-bit performance and provides easy-to-use video editing tools, and streamlined HD, file-based, and stereo 3D workflows.

Avid Media Composer 7 will be released at the end of June and will be available in the online Avid Store and through Avid resellers worldwide.
