Leading front-of-house engineers - Chris Madden and Klaus Scharff - to demonstrate Avid’s world-class live sound consoles and Pro Tools integration

Burlington, MA. 14 March 2012: At Prolight + Sound 2012 - from 21-24 March in Frankfurt, Germany - Avid® (Hall 8, Stand G40) will be demonstrating how the live events industry can ‘elevate its sound’ with its family of VENUE live sound consoles and their seamless integration with its Pro Tools® audio editing system.

A collaborative presentation alongside Avid’s German live sound distributor S.E.A, Avid will reinforce how high-quality and crystal-clear sound can be achieved using its VENUE systems. The VENUE SC48 Remote System, a compact console with remote I/O, that was recently launched at NAMM 2012 will be on show, as well as VENUE D-Show®, a live sound system that offers great flexibility and expandability; and VENUE Profile System, a customisable console in a compact footprint.

The Avid family of VENUE products are regarded by many as the top digital live sound systems for touring engineers, sound companies and live events venues around the world. Two of the industry’s leading front-of-house engineers, Chris Madden and Klaus Scharff, will demo their recent projects on the consoles throughout the show.

Chris Madden will be giving demonstrations of Pink’s live show production using a VENUE D-Show system. Having started his career in the analogue world, Chris embraced digital technology when it arrived. He has worked as a front-of-house engineer in the live touring industry since 2000, and with artists including Sade (2011 world tour), Pink (2009-2010 world tour), Joe Cocker (2007-2008 world tour) and The Waterboys (2000-2007).

Klaus Scharff is one of Germany’s most respected front-of-house and studio engineers. Throughout the show he’ll be giving VENUE SC48 Remote System demonstrations of recent projects. Klaus’ career has seen him work with German hip-hop band Die Fantastischen Vier, as well as other top German acts including Xavier Naidoo, Thomas D and Joy Denalane.

Derk Hagedorn, segment marketing manager for live sound at Avid, said: “We are delighted to have users of the stature of Chris and Klaus demonstrating our solutions at Prolight + Sound 2012. There really is no better way to showcase how easy and intuitive our systems are to use than through presenting our customers’ real-life projects.”

Avid will also attend Musikmesse (Hall 5.1 Stand A68). To book a media appointment or demonstration, please contact Louise Wells or Michael Lamb at Red Lorry Yellow Lorry on 020 7403 8878 or at avid@rlyl.com.
