Creative talent behind Cinderella, Sherlock and Happy Valley showcase how to create compelling stories with industry-leading video and audio solutions

WHAT: Avid® (stand F60) today announced that at Broadcast Video Expo 2015 (BVE), high-profile customers across the media production industry will showcase how they have embraced Avid Everywhere™ to craft multi-award winning television shows and blockbuster films - including Sherlock, Happy Valley and Cinderella.

Leading post-production editors and independent creatives will discuss how they used the industry’s leading audio and video production solutions from the Avid Artist Suite, running on the Avid MediaCentral Platform, to craft and tell the compelling stories behind these internationally acclaimed shows and films.

Also taking to the stage will be award-winning supervising sound editor, James Mather. With a host of credits to his name, including Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Wrath of the Titans and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Part 2, Mather will be interviewed by industry expert Will Strauss about his career and use of Avid Pro Tools® on the upcoming Disney live action blockbuster, Cinderella.

It’s all about the workflow - Tuesday 24 February, 11.30am–12.00pm

Examining workflows of the present and future with Paul Clennell, CTO of dock10; Dominic Bassett, senior media services engineer, Ravensbourne; and Matt Edwards, technical manager, MSV Post.

Sherlock case study - Wednesday 25 February, 10:50am–11:20am

Avid Pro Tools mixers Doug Sinclair and Howard Bargroff from Bang Post Production present their BAFTA award-winning sound design work on the international hit series, Sherlock.

An interview with James Mather - Wednesday 25 February, 2:45pm–3:15pm

The award-winning supervising sound editor will be interviewed on his use of Avid Pro Tools and work including Cinderella (released in March 2015), Harry Potter and the latest Jack Ryan feature.

Editing/drama session - Thursday 26 February, 1:30pm-2:00pm

Robert Douglas-Reeves, lead editor at dock10, will discuss his work cutting the critically acclaimed series, Happy Valley, on Avid Media Composer.

Avid masterclasses:

• Media Composer masterclass sessions - Thursday 26 February, 10:15am-11:15am; 11:30am-12:30pm; 3:00pm-4:00pm in Meeting Room 16.

The sessions will be run by Paddy Bird, founder of the creative editing course, Inside The Edit.
