S+O Media takes the weight off Eyeworks for obesity documentary

London, 14 July 2011 - Broadcast crewing and facilities company, S+O Media, have been hired by TV and film production company, Eyeworks, to manage the shoot and sound recording for SKY1 HD’s upcoming documentary about tackling obesity, A Year To Save My Life., based on a hit-series in the US.[1]

The documentary, tracks the journeys of nine super obese people who undergo a strict weight loss and training regime with fitness trainer Jessie Pavelka Each episode focuses on one person’s struggle to lose weight and turn their lives around.

S+O, whose recent projects include Channel Four’s 10 O’clock Live and Comedy Central’s hidden camera show Dirty, Sexy, Funny, have worked with Eyeworks’ Alice Triffit for years, following their work on Move Like Michael Jackson for BBC 3 and later Let’s Dance for Comic Relief for BBC 1 in 2009, amongst numerous other projects in development. “Their immense technical understanding and close attention to detail make them an obvious choice for the job,” explainedAlice, head of Production at Eyeworks. They always offer me amazing deals and advice and are never fazed by the last-minute nature of the job.”

S+O Media devised the complicated technical set-up of the sleep clinic shoot providing the Sony PMW-EX1 XDCAM EX camera with NanoFlash, as well as organising an unattended surveillance feed overnight. “S+O always give me that little bit extra,”Alicecontinued. “If they’re not here physically working with us at the time, they’re just at the end of the phone. They’ve even been helping train our junior shooters.”
