Baseload Power Iceland appoints new Managing Director
Baseload Power Iceland is delighted to welcome Marta Rós Karlsdóttir as new Managing Director.
With full responsibility for the leadership and development of Baseload Power Iceland’s business, Marta Rós will play a central role in developing innovative low- and medium-temperature geothermal projects that showcase the potential of geothermal energy worldwide.
Marta Rós holds a PhD and a MSc degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Iceland, with a part of her studies undertaken at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) within energy and environmental engineering.
She brings extensive experience from the geothermal energy industry in Iceland, with focus on geothermal power plants, resource utilization, energy efficiency, sustainability, licensing and policy.
Before joining Baseload Oct 1st, 2023, she held management positions at Iceland’s National Energy Authority and the Icelandic Power company ON Power, as well as a leadership position in sustainability consulting at Verkís Consulting Engineers.
