The Best Kept Secret is out….. Gift of the Year Nominations
Morpeth based scented candle maker Best Kept Secrets has been nominated for a prestigious Gift Association ‘Gift of the Year’ award, at the 2013 awards held on 3rdFebruary at Spring Fair International.
These national awards celebrate the very best products for the gifts market and offers the essential guide to the independent retail sector on what products have been exceptional new products launched in the last 12 months. Best Kept Secrets were encouraged to enter the awards by customers and suppliers following the hugely successful launch of the ‘Super 7’s’ range of scented tea lite candles, and this has paid off, as the product is now one of the final 3 products nominated in the ‘Made in UK’ category at the awards.
The product has been a sensation since its launch achieving a 36% growth in sales for the Northumberland based business. The company sources all the elements for the candles from scents to packaging, from within the UK, and everything is produced and assembled by hand in the businesses purpose designed workshops in Northumberland.
This nomination represents a major breakthrough for Best Kept Secrets as the products receiving nominations have been judged against strict criteria including:
- Design innovation and originality
- Quality of manufacture
- Sales potential and commercial viability
- Presentation and packaging
- Customer appeal and value
- Retail profit potential
- Marketing and merchandising support to the trade and the consumer
- X / WOW factor
Best Kept Secrets entered the awards for the first time this year, because the way the retail trade has responded to the product, and the high quality, value and innovation in this gift. The product range has had a massive impact on the overall business development, with new personnel recruited to deal with demand.
The awards will be announced on the first day of Spring Fair, on the 3rdFebruary 2013, which coincides with the major trade show held at the NEC in Birmingham, and Best Kept Secrets will be attending the whole exhibition, and launching a new range of products for 2013. The awards are organised by national trade body the Gift Association and this is the flagship event for the UK gift industry.
Best Kept Secrets will be at Spring Fair between 3rd and 7th February in Hall 5, at stand 5L31.
