Cucina MD Steve Quinn praised by educational catering magazine

Writing in October's edition of school food magazine Educatering, H2O Group Editor Jane Renton has praised the MD and founder of Cucina Restaurants for combining 'unusually strong convictions' with 'unusually strong business principles' to create a company that is refreshingly unusual.

Citing Cucina’s soon-to-be-released signature range of dishes created specially for the company by reigning professional BBC Masterchef champion Ash Mair, Renton pointed out that Quinn has ‘a lot to be proud of’, in particular the way he continued to pursue a high-risk business strategy in bringing a wide range of low-cost gastronomic choices to 40 school restaurants daily.

Commenting on the article, Steve Quinn said:

“It’s lovely to receive this kind of recognition of what we do. We’re a ‘high end’ caterer in terms of the quality of the food we produce and sell, but bear in mind that all our client schools are Academies and local authority secondary schools. It’s certainly accurate to call our business strategy ‘high risk’, but we continue to make that work well.”

The article also mentioned Quinn’s brief appearance in Channel 4’s recent Dispatches programme ‘The School Food Scandal’ and his widely publicised views on the inadequacies of the government’s nutritional guidelines for schools.
