Mismatched priorities influences decision to walk away

Gourmet school caterer Cucina Restaurants has decided to opt out of its contract with Drayton Manor School. Commenting on the move, Cucina MD Steve Quinn said:

"This was no easy decision, but over the course of 5 years we reached a point where the school's priorities no longer matched our own, and we became unable to offer the the standard of food that we are known for. I am now convinced that this is the very best outcome for us and for Drayton Manor School."

Commenting on his company's 100% contract retention record, Quinn said:

"This record is important to us and I'm pleased it remains intact. Equally important is the fact that we will not compromise on our high food standards. Achieving these requires commitment from both sides, which is why we are so careful about which contracts we target."

Notes:

*  Cucina Restaurants serves a wide range of restaurant standard food cooked from scratch at 42 UK school restaurants daily from the freshest ingredients

*  In the company's most recent Catering Audit Review it was awarded a score of 98.4%, almost unprecedented in its industry
