Aquaculture company Flatlantic transports fresh seafood in boxes made with Certified Recycled EPS (CREPS) from BEWI, reducing CO\2\ footprint by 30 per cent.
The Portuguese flatfish producer Flatlantic is using fish boxes made with Certified Recycled EPS from BEWI, which is boxes based on recycled EPS (expanded polystyrene) material. The performance and quality of the material are maintained, securing food safety and optimal transport, while at the same time reducing the carbon footprint from packaging by 30 per cent.
In the process to produce Certified Recycled EPS, a mix of recycled and virgin feedstock is used, and third-party certification ensures that the material’s properties are allocated to the industries and products where they are
BEWI, a leading European provider of packaging, components and insulation solutions, is establishing a new XPS (extruded polystyrene) insulation facility in Sastamala, Finland. Construction of the plant began in early 2026, with production scheduled to the first quarter of 2027.
The initiative is a direct response to the growing demand for XPS solutions. The new facility will be located adjacent to BEWI’s existing EPS (expanded polystyrene) production site on Toravantie in Sastamala, supporting efficient logistics and contributing to strengthening BEWI’s position in the Finnish market.
BEWI, a leading European provider of packaging, components, and insulation solutions, has opened a new EPS recycling facility in Norway, the first of its kind in the country. The facility is located at the company’s production site for insulation solutions in Fredrikstad, enabling efficient collection and use of recycled material directly in the production of new products.
“We are proud to open a recycling facility here in Fredrikstad,” says Jens Christian Hernes, Managing Director of BEWI’s insulation operations in Norway. “Using in-house recycled material directly in the production
BEWI, a leading provider of packaging, components, and insulation solutions, is expanding its GreenLine product range with insulating boards of grey EPS (expanded polystyrene) with up to 52 per cent lower CO\2\ footprint. GreenLine Super EPS is produced using the industry-first grey EPS raw material made entirely from recycled feedstock, developed by BEWI RAW.
“GreenLine Super EPS reduces CO₂ emissions compared to standard grey EPS, supporting carbon reduction targets in the building and construction industry while maintaining the same technical properties and insulation performance”,
