Stefan Larsson takes on new role in BIMobject and Johan Svanström is appointed interim CEO
Founder and CEO Stefan Larsson will take on a different role in BIMobject and the Board appoints Johan Svanström as interim CEO. Search for new CEO is already ongoing.
Stefan Larsson has been the CEO of BIMobject since he founded the company in 2011. During Stefan’s tenure as CEO, the company has become the undisputed global leader in BIM content. Since 2011, BIMobject has reached numerous milestones, including the listing on First North, two major share emissions bringing in almost half a billion SEK, over 1 million registered users and more than 33 million product downloads.
As Stefan wishes to take on a different role in BIMobject, he has decided to step down from the CEO position in order to focus on business development activities. This will include being heavily involved in the very important North American market. The board respects Stefan’s decision and is thrilled that Stefan will remain involved as the key visionary.
The Board is very pleased to announce that an accomplished and truly digital global executive, Johan Svanström, as of today is appointed interim CEO to secure a smooth transition and a continued successful journey onwards. Johan was until recently President of Hotels.com worldwide and is Partner at EQT Partners and Investment advisor to EQT Ventures since January this year. Johan is also a personal shareholder in BIMobject and knows the company well. The search for a new CEO is already ongoing through executive search firm Spencer Stuart.
“I have thought about this for quite some time and I am sure the time is right – I want to focus on activities closer to my entrepreneurial heart, and BIMobject now needs a new CEO”, says Stefan Larsson, founder of BIMobject.
“Stefan has worked intensively since 2011, being the visionary leader and breaking new ground time and time again. We respect Stefan’s decision, and we are very happy to keep him onboard. Furthermore, we are very pleased to have a very experienced and international ecommerce business leader like Johan taking on the interim CEO position during the transition”, says Anders Wilhjelm, Chairman of the Board BIMobject.
