Appointments in Bittium Corporation

Mr. Antti Näykki appointed as Senior Vice President, Medical Technologies Product and Service Area in Bittium Corporation as Mr. Arto Pietilä, the current Senior Vice President, Medical Technologies Product and Service Area, will retire as planned.

Mr. Antti Näykki (45 years), B.Eng. Embedded Systems, has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Medical Technologies Product and Service Area in Bittium Corporation and as a member of Bittium Corporation’s Management Group, effective on February 1, 2022. Mr. Näykki has worked at Bittium since 2019, among other things, as responsible for business development, and as the head of the Medical Technologies product management. In his new position as Senior Vice President of Medical Technologies Product and Service Area, he will report to Mr. Hannu Huttunen, CEO of Bittium Corporation. Prior to Bittium, Mr. Näykki has worked as Managing Director of Jutel Oy and in various sales and management positions at Exfo and Nethawk.

Mr. Arto Pietilä, Senior Vice President of Medical Technologies Product and Service Area and a member of Bittium Corporation’s Management Group, will retire in March 2022. He has agreed to support a smooth transition of responsibilities to Mr. Antti Näykki in the first months of 2022. Mr. Pietilä started at Bittium (previously Elektrobit) in 2001 as the head of the Contract R&D business area and later served as the Managing Director of Elektrobit Technologies Ltd., among others. Since 2016, as Bittium acquired a company focused on measuring and monitoring of Biosignals, Mega Elektroniikka Oy, and established new a Medical Technologies Product and Service Area, Mr. Pietilä has been leading this Product and Service Area.

As of February 1, 2022, Bittium Corporation’s management group consists of the following persons: Mr. Hannu Huttunen, CEO (Chairman); Mr. Pekka Kunnari, CFO; Mr. Kari Jokela, CLO; Mrs. Karoliina Malmi, Vice President Communications and Marketing; Mr. Jari Sankala, Senior Vice President Defense & Security; Mr. Tommi Kangas, Senior Vice President Connectivity Solutions; Mr. Antti Näykki, Senior Vice President Medical Technologies; and Mr. Jari-Pekka Innanen, Vice President, Engineering.

Mr. Kristo Kivilaakso appointed as Vice President, Sales and Business Development of the Medical Technologies Product and Service Area

Mr. Kristo Kivilaakso (44 years), MBA, has been appointed as Vice President, Sales and Business Development of the Medical Technologies Product and Service Area as of January 25, 2022. Mr. Kivilaakso joins Bittium from LymphaTouch Oy where he acted as the Managing Director of the company. Prior to that he has held various sales and management positions at Optomed Oy and Icare Finland Oy, among others. In his new position at Bittium Mr. Kivilaakso reports to Mr. Antti Näykki.

Mr. Arto Remes becomes Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors of Bittium Corporation

Bittium Corporation has made an agreement with Mr. Arto Remes (63, M.Sc., Medical Physics / Electronics) that he will act as an external advisor to the Bittium Corporation’s Board of Directors regarding the development of the Medical Technologies business effective immediately. Mr. Remes is one of the founders of Mega Elektroniikka Oy, company, which was acquired by Bittium in 2016. Remes was acting as an entrepreneur and Managing Director of the company and after the acquisition, he continued as the General Manager of Bittium's Medical Technologies Product and Service Area. In 2020, his role changed and until June 2021 he acted as Strategic Advisor of the Medical Technologies business. Mr. Remes has a long line of experience in medical business, and he has a wide international network in the medical technology product market.
