It's National Cupcake Day! Let's Make Cupcakes!!!
In honor of National Cupcake Day here is a tried and true, traditional vanilla cupcake recipe from food.com.
Ingredients
2 cups of flour
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ cup butter, softened
¾ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees; line muffin cups with paper.
Cream the softened butter and sugar until they are light and fluffy; beat in the eggs one at a time.
Add flour (mixed with baking powder and salt) alternating with milk; beat well; stir in vanilla.
Divide evenly among the pans and bake for 18 minutes, let cool in the pan.
Makes 20 to 25 cupcakes
Make it unique
If plain vanilla doesn’t do it for you then top your cupcakes off with a favorite icing or add something to the cupcakes right before baking (frozen fruit, sprinkles, or chocolate chips) for some extra flavor.
