Allesley based IT company, Netmetix, is literally heading for the clouds this month to celebrate its tenth anniversary with the launch of its new cloud-based service, Cloudmetix, and a charity paraglide in aid of blood cancer research.

Netmetix was started in 2001 just as information technology was really starting to take off. This was the year that Microsoft launched its first Xbox, Apple launched OSX and internet access and mobile phone usage were on the rise. Today, it is cloud-based services that are taking the business world by storm as companies look to move their office IT online.

Coinciding with its tenth anniversary, Netmetix is launching Cloudmetix which will add another dimension to the company’s IT products and services and will help its customers revolutionise their own business operations, giving them complete flexibility and freedom to adapt to changing market conditions.

The cloud has been around for some time and many of us are used to accessing music or video streaming. Now, with faster broadband connections and much larger data storage capacities, cloud services are available to businesses.

Paul Blore, managing director of Netmetix, said: “Ten years is a nice milestone to reach and a significant one for Netmetix. We are very proud of our achievements and delighted that we can still maintain our innovation and creativity with the launch of new technologies.”

Netmetix was originally started as a CAD solutions re-seller before restructuring at the beginning of 2008 to focus on network infrastructure and services for SMBs. This latest product development will take the company forward again as it embarks on its next decade in business.

The company is one of a handful of Microsoft Certified IT Professionals in the region with Netmetix’s strong team of technical staff undergoing training to the highest standards, providing quality assurance that underpins everything the company does.

Mr Blore added: “As SMEs become more comfortable with how cloud computing operates, it will present opportunities for both us and our customers. It’s an exciting challenge because it represents a significant change in how we deliver our services and is underpinned by our in-house expertise. We are able to guide our customers through the whole implementation process when they are looking to move to cloud. ”

The company has enjoyed great success in its first 10 years with major contracts, including an order for a major upgrade of the entire IT systems of Hybrid Air Vehicles. Netmetix also landed a contract with Nuneaton-based Biddle Air Systems to provide network support and maintenance services for its company-wide IT infrastructure at its UK head office. More recently Netmetix won a contract for the support of the network infrastructure of Options Group across all of its sites.

To mark the tenth anniversary and the launch of Cloudmetix, the company has also supported a charity paraglide jump by one of its sales executives, Stephen Groundwell, which will raise money for blood cancer charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
