Good Garage Scheme goes back to school for BEN

Good Garage Scheme staff in Coventry created their own school playground setting to raise vital funds and social media awareness of the automotive charity, BEN.

As part of BEN’s 107thanniversary celebrations and National BEN Week in July, the Good Garage Scheme took the ‘Back 2 School’ initiative to their hearts by taking a trip down memory lane to their childhood days. The Good Garage Scheme grounds were turned into a playground and staff dressed in school clothes and took part in classic school games, including the egg and spoon race. There was even a good old fashioned school tuck shop selling dib dabs, refreshers and mint humbug sweets.

Good Garage Scheme animated figure, Miles Better joined in the fun and was on hand to help raise money to coincide with the 107thanniversary.

Anndi Sheppard, Marketing Manager for the Good Garage Scheme said: “We all had a fantastic time going back to our school days for BEN. The charity does some excellent work supporting those that work in our industry and we are always keen to support them as best we can. This Back 2 School day provided us with an ideal opportunity to raise vital funds for BEN and have a light-hearted, fun day for staff.

The Good Garage Scheme has been supporting BEN for a number of years. As well as holding events like this one to raise much-needed funds, the Scheme has also helped raise the charity’s profile through ongoing social media support and marketing activity.

BEN exists to provide care, support and advice to those in the automotive and related industries, who need help in times of hardship or distress. Whether it is helping with the cost of specialised equipment for a disabled child, providing emotional support during a time of illness or funding for a respite break, BEN has been helping others for over a century.
