Askews the Coventry accountancy firm has been awarded partner status by accounting solutions company SAGE. Under the agreement, Askews will use the ground breaking SAGE One product to support the firm’s innovative online accounting offering it launched in July 2012.

Askews online accounting website outsources business financial tasks, which reduces business outgoings, and streamlines financial processes. SAGE allows accountancy practices like Askews to use the SAGE One product in order to have the solution supported by accountancy practices that provide timely, relevant, and sound advice.

Francesca Holmes, Sage Online Accounting Programme (SOAP) business consultant says: “Here at Sage we are always looking to partner with practices like Askews, who not only have a proven track record of customer satisfaction, but also show strength in their field of expertise. After meeting Neil Askew, it became clear that the SOAP (sage online accounting programme) proposition would be a good fit for Askews as it would enable them to cater for their aspiring business clients, as well as those who are just in need of a more personal 1-2-1 service. By being a SOAP partner, Askews are showing their ability to adapt to the cloud and bring a new way of thinking to an old profession.”

With HMRC compliance requirements increasing, and cash flow becoming ever more important, small businesses are looking more and more towards the ease and flexibility of online accountancy.

Askews online accounting site is already proving successful with the business receiving multiple requests each day. The company is already converting between 25 to 30 per cent of the enquiries it receives.

The website produces an instant quote for a business’s accounting needs after answering seven simple questions about their company.

Each month clients send in their documents electronically and Askews process everything. All bookkeeping is completed, right through to management accounts and if required final year end accounts.

Darryl Holmes, Director of Angels Childcare Recruitment, is an end user of Askews online accounting service and says: “Since we moved to the offshore version of payroll, the level of service has not been sacrificed. The only difference is that it is all dealt with online, which makes everything far swifter for us.”

SAGE One is an online accounting and payroll solution for small business owners and their accountants. It operates via a cloud computing platform, which is a hot topic within the accountancy sector, with industry leaders predicting it to be the way forward. Clients are able to upload their data securely giving the accountant, such as Askews, access to the same data instantly. The mobile element means clients can present invoices as soon as they finish a job, speeding up billing and cash flow.

Neil Askew, managing director of Askews Accountants said: “Sage One allows clients to run their business accounts from work, home or on the go. The real selling point is that you can invite others to view your accounts and provide valuable real-time advice. The cloud computing element means that data is completely secure even if your computer is lost or stolen.”
