Space Engineering Services selects cool SYSPRO manufacturing system
A new integrated manufacturing system from Manchester-based K3 Business Technology Group (K3) aims to deliver important benefits to refrigeration and HVAC firm Space Engineering Services based in Bristol.
The new SYSPRO solution integrates Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing and Advanced Trial Kitting to provide full visibility of business critical information across both Space Engineering plant manufacturing sites.
“Our business is growing from strength to strength, so we decided that it was time to update our systems. We looked for an uncomplicated solution that would provide the information we need at our fingertips. SYSPRO is a good choice for our operation as it is easy to use and, therefore, fits the bill. It will improve stock control and save time by eliminating duplication and giving us accurate up to date information,” says Tony Mills, Space Engineering’s Production Manager.
“Importantly, SYSPRO will help us to plan production better, which will benefit our customers by shortening lead times and improving quality. The system will give a complete and timely view of where we are with production and also exact details of components in stock and those on order, which will boost our efficiency,” he adds.
Currently using spreadsheets, Space Engineering, contracted independent consultant John Haslam to review the company’s operation and to help find a suitable automated solution.
“John conducted a thorough investigation into what we do and what we wanted to achieve. He then looked at the business software market, resulting in two possible solutions. SYSPRO won the day; with the K3 team providing a very good presentation and answering all of our questions satisfactorily. We were impressed that K3’s offering is much more of a standard packaged solution and not one that needs developing specifically for our use. This keeps things simple for us as the end user,” says Tony Mills.
Space Engineering provides nationwide turn-key refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical and electrical engineering solutions for the retail, commercial, industrial and public sectors.
