Brighter has initiated a partnership with The Provincial Government of West Java, Indonesia, and will as part of this deliver 100 Actiste to support diabetes patients in the region. Within the framework of the collaboration, West Java and Brighter will train healthcare staff at local hospitals in administering the service and the data-driven care that Actiste makes possible. The training will begin after the summer. The delivery as such will not generate revenue for the company at this stage of the collaboration.

“This will be our first users in the Indonesian market, which is fantastic, and an important step forward when it comes to further market penetration. The partnership is a result of Brighter's increased physical presence in Indonesia and the successful preparations that the company has conducted in the region for some time,” says Henrik Norström, CEO of Brighter.

The parties will now jointly optimize the Actiste service for use in Indonesia. West Java is one of the country's most populous regions with about 40 million inhabitants, of which approximately 3.7 million are predicted to live with diabetes.

“Indonesia, like other countries in Southeast Asia that are characterized by rapid socio-economic change, has extensive challenges with diabetes. Together with The Provincial Government of West Java, we are now taking a major step towards improving and countering that situation, while at the same time gaining valuable insights that will support further establishment in both Indonesia and its surrounding countries,” says Johan Möller, co-director of Southeast Asia.

Due to Covid-19, the company has received special permission to begin the work of introducing Actiste to patients in Indonesia, in parallel with the completion of the formal national product registration. Brighter also collaborates with Business Sweden, which have provided support in Brighter’s efforts of establishing this partnership, to spread Swedish innovation in the region.
