Christer Trägårdh is proposed as Chairman of Brighter’s Board of Directors – Sjöstedt steps down from the Board

Brighter's Nomination Committee proposes Christer Trägårdh as Chairman of Brighter's Board of Directors from January 1st 2021. Christer Trägårdh was previously Head of Swedish Banking at Swedbank and has extensive experience of board work. Brighter's founder Truls Sjöstedt also announces that, in connection with the reinforcement of the board, he is stepping down from his board assignment.

“During the course of the year, Brigher’s Board of Directors has been reinforced with a number of highly qualified individuals, and with this additional proposal, I now feel completely confident in handing over the continued board work to Christer and the current Directors. I remain convinced that Brighter has a bright future ahead and look forward to its future development,” says Truls Sjöstedt.

Christer Trägårdh has a long history in the banking industry and solid experience of board work in various industries. During 2014-2019, Christer was a member of Swedbank's Group Executive Committee, initially as regional manager and from 2016 as Head of the Group's largest business area Swedish Banking. Prior to that, Christer was the CEO of Bergslagens Sparbank, and he has also worked for 20 years at Handelsbanken in various leading positions.

I would gladly take on the Chairmanship, looking forward to being a part of the company's future development alongside the leadership team and the Directors of the Board,” says Christer Trägårdh.

Furthermore, Christer has had more than 20 board assignments over the years including Chairman of Fastighetsbyrån, Vice Chairman of Svensk Handel Försäkringar (now SH Pension) and board member of UC.

The company will shortly call for an Extraordinary General Meeting to conclude on the matter.
