The Nomination Committee's proposal for the new Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board

Prior to the Extraordinary General Meeting on July 31, 2020, Brighter AB (publ) today announces the Nomination Committee's proposal for a new Board of Directors.

On July 13, it was announced that the company would present a new interim board prior to an extraordinary general meeting. The Nomination Committee is now presenting a proposal for a complete board.

“It is a sign of strength for the company to be able to present such a strong board at such short notice, with a long experience and cutting-edge expertise. It is important with a fresh start, new energy in combination with continuity and knowledge of the company's historical long lines. Right now, Brighter is in an exciting phase and it is obvious that many want to be part of the journey forward and contribute to the company's continued development to improve people's health,” says Dennis Westermark, chairman of the Nomination Committee.

The Nomination Committee's proposals
The Nomination Committee proposes that the Board shall consist of six ordinary members without deputies. The Nomination Committee proposes that Håkan Nyberg is elected as the new Chairman of the Board. Emilie Erhardt Winiarski, Hab El Assaad, Sofia Landström, Åsa Sjöblom Nordgren and former Chairman of the Board Truls Sjöstedt are proposed as board members. The Nomination Committee also proposes that the fee for an ordinary member is increased to 150,000 SEK and for the chairman to 300,000 SEK. The compensation for a member of the Remuneration Committee and the Audit Committee remains at 20,000 SEK.

The proposed board will constitute a good team with diverse and deep experiences that combines new perspectives with knowledge of the business history. I hope the proposed Board of Directors will be approved,” says Håkan Nyberg, proposed Chairman of the Board.

Håkan Nyberg
Håkan Nyberg has over 30 years of experience as a business leader in Swedish and international financial businesses, as well as a strong strategic background in digital product and service development. He led, among other things, the development of Swedbank's internet banking platform and the consortium of banks that developed BankID. Håkan Nyberg has several board commitments and is currently CEO of the fintech company Applicon and Chairman of the Board at Ticino. He has previously held CEO positions at Ikano Bank, Nordnet, Wästgöta finans and EnterCard, among others.

Emilie Erhardt Winiarski
Emilie Erhardt Winiarski has over ten years of experience from the Nordic and international health and medtech industry with a focus on commercialization and business development. In her most recent role, she was Cheif Business Development and Commercialization at Ivbar, a leading provider of advanced data analytics solutions for the healthcare sector. Her previous experiences also include Director of Healthcare Partnerships and Consulting at Getinge and Senior Consulting Manager at Philips Healthcare Transformation Services. Prior to that, she has been working with innovation and digitization projects, consulting as well as customer and partner development at BUPA London and Sirona Health Solutions. 

Hab El Assaad
Hab El Assaad is an international senior impact executive currently testing post-COVID-19 strategies, and proxy/advisor to select members of Dubai and Abu Dhabi sovereign families. A selection of his previous experiences include MIRAKI Innovation, ORYXSIS 1 Bank, ORACLE, GM, Motorola, Impact Hub Dubai, and the AFAQ Group for General Investment as Co-Managing Director, which has been collaborating with Brighter since 2018 in a joint business working to introduce Actiste® Diabetes Management as a service in GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries.

Sofia Landström
Sofia Landström is Group Manager at the animal health company AniCura, and responsible for the company’s animal healthcare app in Europe. She was previously Chief Business Development Officer at the digital health center Doktor24 and has been working as an Investment Advisor at Norrsken Foundation. Sofia Landström has also co-founded the companies Health Navigator and Aktiv Arbetsmedicin. She has many years of experience as an entrepreneur and CEO within healthcare in several countries and a broad expertise in digitization processes.

Åsa Sjöblom Nordgren
Åsa Sjöblom Nordgren is the CEO and founder of Trice Imaging Inc., a global leader in cloud based medical image management. Trice’s solution is approved and available in 42 countries and is built into leading machines from, for example, GE Healthcare, Philips and FujiFilm. Trice has expanded global distribution and online sales directly to healthcare providers. Åsa Sjöblom Nordgren has solid experience from innovation and digitalisation work and changing consumer behaviors in healthcare. She has previously held leading positions at Metronome, Sveriges Kommunikatörer, MobPal Mobile Relations and Tre.

Truls Sjöstedt
Truls Sjöstedt is an entrepreneur and tech innovator who founded Brighter in 2007. Between 2010 and 2019 he was CEO of Brighter and since May 2019 he has been active as the working chairman of the board. Truls Sjöstedt has also been involved in founding, among others, SMEsweden (the Swedish association for smaller listed companies).
