Focus on families as tour operators launch 2011 brochures

It may still be spring, but families across the South West and Wales have already been given the chance to take advantage of great deals on holidays from Bristol Airport next summer. The two biggest tour operators in the UK have launched their summer 2011 brochures early, with both Thomas Cook and TUI offering a strong programme of Bristol Airport departures. Last year the traditional spring publication of holiday brochures for the following summer was delayed as tour operators focused on late bookings. The earlier launch this year indicates summer 2010 sales are strong, but also means great value deals will be available to holiday-makers booking early for 2011. Tui, which trades under the Thomson and First Choice brands, has added a new destination in Tunisia for the region’s holiday-makers, with flights to Enfidha now available from Bristol. This new state-of-the-art airport is closer to the holiday resorts of Hammamet and Port El Kantaoui, meaning passengers can be poolside sooner. Long-haul options include Cancun in Mexico and Orlando, Florida - with the latter flight now operating direct. Thomas Cook has also bolstered the options available outside the Eurozone by adding Izmir to its list of departures from Bristol, providing access to the laid-back Turkish resorts of the Aegean. A wide range of destinations are also available in Portugal, Greece, Spain, the Canaries, Egypt, Malta and the Balearics. Both big holiday companies are focusing on families, with a range of new family-friendly resorts available. Thomson, First Choice and Thomas Cook all offer free child places to selected destinations, and Thomas Cook is offering free in-flight meals for kids. Shaun Browne, Aviation Director at Bristol Airport, said: “We welcome the addition of these exciting new destinations alongside the current programmes operated by Tui and Thomas Cook. Customers now have the opportunity to book early and take advantage of some great offers and deals for 2011. “The South West is an important market for these operators who continue to base aircraft and invest money in the region in order to provide options for holiday-makers looking to travel from their local airport.” Ends For further information please contact: James Gore, Bristol Airport, 01275 475447 / 07717 896315 Jacqui Mills, Bristol Airport, 01275 473615 / 07712 792915
