Gothenburg is Sweden's best logistics location – Perfectly positioned
The Gothenburg region tops the list of Sweden's best logistics locations as stated by the Magazine Intelligent Logistik’s ranking. The list combines hard criteria such as infrastructure, freight flows, land availability, logistics stock and establishments with softer values such as access to logistics expertise and regional cooperation climate. Since 2001, Gothenburg has topped the list 22 out of 23 times.

Being ranked number one, 22 out of 23 times, as we have been is proof we are perfectly positioned and high skilled in logistics and transports. With our port, train connections and airport and investments in research and development towards the green logistics solutions we are Sweden's premier logistics hub. This year’s shared first position with the city Helsingborg also acknowledges west Sweden’s importance for the export and logistics operations of Sweden and the Nordic region as a whole," says Marcus Scoliège, Head of Foreign Direct Investments at Business Region Göteborg.
Strong economic growth provides good opportunities for establishment
In recent years, the Gothenburg region has experienced very strong growth with several new larger establishment being announced. The region is a central node for industries with large flows of goods and offers a skilled workforce, well-developed infrastructure and available land for immediate and future establishment. The Port of Gothenburg and Göteborg Landvetter Airport will open up the region to the world, making Gothenburg an exceptional logistics location in Sweden, the Nordic region and Europe.
The magazine, Intelligent Logistik, notes that there is now plenty of land ready for construction for logistics in the region. New space of 780,000 sqm over the past five years and 182,000 sqm of additional space in 2024 are contributing factors to the Gothenburg region retaining its top position according to Intelligent Logistik’s assessment.
