The Cabonline Group has submitted an offer to acquire the assets of Taksi Helsinki Oy. The Board of Taksi Helsinki has now decided to give the company’s Extraordinary General Meeting on 24th of October the opportunity to consider the offer.

Taksi Helsinki is Finland’s largest taxi dispatch company, with the Cabonline Group currently owning 7.5% of the company via a wholly-owned subsidiary. Taksi Helsinki’s operation includes approximately 1,335 vehicles, of which 133 belong to Cabonline. In total, the company undertakes over seven million journeys each year.

“Through the acquisition of Taksi Helsinki, we would strengthen our position in the Helsinki region,” says Peter Viinapuu, CEO of the Cabonline Group. “Together with our existing brands, it would also place us in a good position to develop our offer throughout the Finnish taxi market. At the same time, Taksi Helsinki drivers would have access to combined expertise and development capacity, strengthening their position in the newly deregulated taxi market.”

“For Cabonline, this acquisition would mean the continued development of our role as the leading Taxi company in the Nordics,” says Peter Viinapuu. “We will increase availability and thereby become a more attractive partner for both the private and public sectors. The acquisition will be financed by unused capacity in our June 2017 bond issue.”
