SACRAMENTO, CA - The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) has elected Bimal Patel, CHA and Terri Haack to its Board of Directors.  Patel, partner with Concept Hotel Group in Menlo Park, will be representing Partner State Associations. Haack, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the Terranea Resort, Destination Hotels & Resorts in Rancho Palos Verdes will be an independent representative and will also sit on the AH&LA Executive Committee.

As a partner with Concept Hotels, Mr. Patel oversees an ever-expanding portfolio of service-oriented boutique and branded hotels in the San Francisco Bay Area and has been in multiple volunteer leadership positions in the industry for over a decade.  He has been an active member of the CH&LA Board for several years and is the current Chair of the Board. Patel also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Hospitality & Restaurant Foundation and was previously an Ambassador for the Asian American Hotel Owners Association.

Since 2002, Haack has served as the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the Terranea Resort, Destination Resorts & Hotels, and Lowe Enterprises in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.  Haack is a long-time participant in AH&LA activities and has been instrumental in launching the California Chapter of Women In Lodging (WIL Connect). Haack is currently Vice Chair of the California Hotel & Lodging Association.

“We want to send a big congratulations to both Terri and Bimal. They will represent the interests of the industry well and are great delegates of the California lodging industry,” said Lynn Mohrfeld, CAE, President and CEO of CH&LA. “AH&LA couldn’t ask for two better qualified and committed individuals to participate on their newly appointed board.”

Both Patel and Haack will attend their first meeting as directors in Washington, D.C. this March in conjunction with the AH&LA Legislative Action Summit.
