Sacramento, Calif. – Jennifer Wheaton was recognized, for the second consecutive year, with the "30 and Under" Emerging Leaders Award by the California Travel Association at the California Travel Summit recently in San Diego.  This award identifies and recognizes future hospitality industry leaders for their outstanding contributions to the industry.

Ms. Wheaton has been with the California Hotel & Lodging Association (CH&LA) as the California Association of Boutique & Breakfast Inns (CABBI) Program Coordinator for three years and was promoted to CH&LA Marketing Manager in January 2012.  In that time, she has advanced CABBI’s efforts substantially with a completely redesigned website and a pay per click program that has grown over 2000% since she began managing the effort.  Additionally, Ms. Wheaton produced the CABBI Travel Guide ahead of schedule and under budget and received an Award of Excellence from the Int’l Society of Hotel Association Executives (ISHAE) for this publication in December 2012.  Furthermore, Ms. Wheaton is heavily involved in the Sacramento/Sierra Nevada Chapter of Meeting Planners Int’l and is on a path to apply for her Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation in the coming year.

“We’re extremely fortunate to have Jenn on our team and appreciate her efforts on our behalf,” said Allan Farwell, CH&LA Chair and General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells. “This award is yet another validation of her commitment and dedication to the hospitality industry.”
