Candace Savage elected as 2014 President of the CH&LA Education Foundation

The California Hotel & Lodging Association Education Foundation (CH&LAEF) has elected Candace Savage, MHS, as the 2014 President of the Foundation. Savage is the Regional Sales Director of USA Today/Gannett Publishing Services. She has served on the CH&LA Board of Directors since 2002 and Education Foundation Board of Directors since 2008.

The Board of Directors also elected Pat Seminario, Regional Market Director, Human Resources, Marriott Hotels, to the role of Secretary, replacing Savage in that position.

The CH&LAEF Board of Directors for 2014 are: Past Chair, Jason Feger, Hilton Hotels Corporation; Chair, Candace Savage, MHS, USA Today; Secretary, Pat Seminario, Marriott Hotels; Treasurer, Tom Patton, Ramada Limited Santa Barbara; Rob Balmer, CHA, Beverly Heritage Hotel; Wes Tyler, CHA, Chancellor Hotel on Union Square; Elliot Katz, Peerless Coffee; Lee Blecher, PhD, CHE, California State University Long Beach; Mary M. Crowe, La Playa Carmel; Pete Ells, Ojai Valley Resort & Spa; Mike Getto, The Hills Hotel; Peter Fuller, Advisor Emeritus.

These individuals represent the diverse leadership of the California lodging industry, and truly believe in the development of hospitality professionals through education and experience.

The California Hotel & Lodging Association Education Foundation provides funding and assistance to California institutions and individuals as well as for related activities which further research and knowledge in the field of hotel management with respect to the lodging, hospitality, and food service industries. In just the past two decades, CH&LA’s Education Foundation has contributed more than $500,000 to the future benefit on the California lodging industry.
