Handlery Foundation Donates $10,000 to The California Hotel & Lodging Association Education Foundation

Sacramento, Calif., – The Handlery Foundation recently contributed a leadership gift of $10,000 to the California Hotel & Lodging Association Education Foundation (CH&LAEF) scholarship program. A longtime advocate of the CH&LA Education Foundation, the Handlery Foundation supports CH&LAEF’s mission to foster the education of our future hospitality industry leaders.

The Handlery family has been an active member of the California Hotel & Lodging Association for two generations, with Jon Handlery, President of Handlery Hotels, sitting on the CH&LA board of directors, for many years.

“The Handlery family is proud to continue our support for the CH&LA Education Foundation,” stated Jon Handlery.  “I challenge all hoteliers to give, as investing in our students is an investment in our industry.”

Hundreds of students and lodging industry employees have benefited from the generosity of the Handlery Foundation and CH&LA Education Foundation thanks them for their commitment and encourages others in supporting the future of our industry.

Support from the Handlery family, and others, has made it possible for CH&LA’s Education Foundation to contribute more than $500,000 in the last two decades to the future benefit of the California lodging industry. This year alone, the Foundation awarded scholarships totaling over $20,000, to 13 students, representing eight hospitality programs. 

CH&LAEF provides funding and assistance to individuals studying in the field of hospitality and the California institutions that offer hospitality training, as well as for related activities which further research and knowledge in the field of hotel management with respect to the lodging, hospitality, and food service industries.
