Calmark Sweden AB has hired Annika Kaisdotter Andersson for the role as International Quality Manager in order to strengthen its QA/RA capabilities. Annika is currently working as Global Head of Quality Assurance in the ABB group. She will work on Calmark’s quality management system and product registrations together with Michael Lundh, who joined the team last summer.

Annika Kaisdotter Andersson has a wealth of experience in the quality management of both small and large companies. Prior to joining ABB, she worked as Manager Operations & Quality at Hök Instrument AB and Senseair. Annika holds a Ph.D. in Electronics/Biomedical engineering, and the product developed and launched by Hök Instrument was based on her Ph.D. thesis1 on breath alcohol analysis. For three years, Annika Kaisdotter Andersson was Vice President of the company, where she took part in establishing the production and is one of the patent holders.

“I first encountered Calmark in 2009 through the Go Global Medtech program, where the founders Mathias Karlsson and Sofia Hjort af Ornäs were among the participants. We have been in regular contact since Anna became the CEO, and I have followed the company’s journey with great interest.  It is very inspiring to get the chance to join the team now, in this exciting and expansionary phase,” says Annika Kaisdotter Andersson. “I hope that my broad background focused on quality will contribute to continued success for the company. It also warms my heart to get the opportunity to return to medtech!”

"It gives us immense satisfaction that we have been able to convince Annika to join Calmark," says Anna Söderlund, CEO. “In view of the forthcoming global launch, with a large number of registrations across continents, and with the IVDR coming into effect next year, it is essential for us to strengthen our QA/RA resources. We already have a high level of competence in this area, thanks to Micke Lundh, and Annika will complement the team very well with her extensive experience from a variety of industries. I really look forward to welcoming her to the team!”

Annika Kaisdotter Andersson is a shareholder in Calmark Sweden AB and holds 45,808 B shares. She will take up position on April 12.

Calmark Sweden AB is a medical technology company developing a point-of-care (POC) analysis method with easier and faster diagnostics of medical conditions in newborns. The unique test platform consists of a portable instrument and test cassettes for various biomarkers. The first test, Neo-Bilirubin, was launched to the market in 2020. In the Western world, the introduction of POC diagnostics is resulting in huge savings and shorter care chains. In less developed healthcare systems, the product will offer a decision support which is currently lacking, since the access to hospital laboratories often is limited. Calmark aims to become the global leader in POC diagnostics for newborns and, in the long term, to offer all relevant tests for the first period of life. In addition to products for newborns, Calmark develops a POC test for assessment of COVID-19 disease severity. The B share is listed on the Spotlight Stock Market and is traded under the CALMA B ticker. Read more at www.calmark.se/eng/home.
