Carrier Transicold UK Introduces New 150-Point Review Process to Support Health and Safety Compliance
WARRINGTON, United Kingdom, April 24, 2012
Carrier Transicold UK has launched a 150-point assurance review programme to reinforce health and safety best practices across its network of service partners in the UK. Carrier Transicold helps improve global transport and shipping temperature control with a complete line of equipment for refrigerated trucks, trailers and containers, and is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The comprehensive review process – named “Carrier Safe” – has been uniquely developed in conjunction with the Engineering Employers’ Federation (EEF), an organisation that supports the manufacturing and engineering industries with professional training and advice services. As part of the new appraisals, EEF will carry out independent annual reviews of allUKservice partners on behalf of Carrier Transicold. The reviews will be based on a comprehensive set of criteria covering everything from Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) policies to waste management systems.
“Health and safety is a key focus for Carrier Transicold, both as a manufacturer and as an employer,” said Ross Thomson, network operations manager, Carrier Transicold UK. “‘Carrier Safe further raises the bar in our health and safety programme and helps to better protect our customers’ businesses.
“This is an opportunity to record where we are as an organisation and to ensure that all elements of the business are supported,” added Thomson.
Carrier Safe will be incorporated into Carrier Transicold’s annual Performance, Assessment and Competitive Excellence (PACE) awards scheme in 2012. As well as highlighting any areas where health and safety standards can be bolstered, it will reward the best performing service partners with the chance to re-invest back into their own safety programmes with additional funding from Carrier Transicold.
