Carrier Transicold UK’s Network Service Providers Commit to Health and Safety with EEF Membership
WARRINGTON, England, October 6, 2015
All of Carrier Transicold’s UK and Irish network service providers have become affiliate members of the Engineering Employers’ Federation (EEF), providing further independent validation of their Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) development programmes. Carrier Transicold, which operates in the UK as Carrier Transicold UK, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The federation conducts independent annual reviews of all network service providers’ EH&S competence, based on a comprehensive set of criteria regarding EH&S practices that are benchmarked against aspects of legal compliance – and Carrier Transicold’s own exacting standards. The activities are carried out as part of the manufacturer’s “Carrier Safe” EH&S initiative, which was launched in conjunction with the EEF in 2011.
“We hold our network service partners to high standards of customer service, technical expertise and health and safety compliance,” said Scott Dargan, managing director, Carrier Transicold, Northern Europe and Service EMEAR. “Through EEF affiliation, we can independently verify that our network service providers are meeting our stringent safety and environmental targets.”
The Carrier Transicold UK service providers network spans 22 locations across the UK and Ireland. Each service provider is an independent company, providing maintenance for Carrier Transicold equipment. Together, these service providers employ more than 155 mobile service engineers, who are responsible for the installation, service and repair of temperature-controlled equipment fitted to vans, trucks and trailers. Their roles include annual temperature control testing and certification, as well as F-Gas regulation compliance.
The EEF, which represents nearly 20,000 organisations across the UK, supports the manufacturing and engineering industries. The federation also enjoys a formal partnership with the UK government’s Health & Safety Executive.
