Catena and Einride are working together to install new charging stations for electric freight vehicles at strategic nodes for the electrified and sustainable logistics network of the future.

There are numerous synergies between Catena, which develops, owns and manages logistics properties, and the freight technology company Einride, which delivers digital, electric and autonomous transport. Together, they will establish charging stations at two of Catena’s strategic logistics properties, which are located along Sweden’s key transport routes and optimally positioned to support the charging of heavy vehicles in Sweden. The collaboration will enable Catena and Einride to continue driving forward the transformation and energy-transition process within their respective fields of operation.

Strategic partnership with a focus on sustainability and innovation
The partnership agreement that was signed aims to establish charging stations in collaboration with Einride at two of Catena’s properties:

  • Adaptern 1, in Ingelsta, Norrköping municipality, in operation
  • Plantehuset 2 (Logistics Position Tostarp) in Helsingborg municipality, which is expected to be in operation by November 2025

The charging stations will feature six to eight charging terminals with an output of up to 400 kW per terminal and will be accessible for all electrical trucks. The needs of drivers will be the focus of the design of these stations, which will feature drivers’ lounges with amenities such as toilets, showers and kitchens. Drivers will be able to easily monitor the charging status, remaining time, power output and performance through screens in the lounge. The lounges will be free of charge to all members.

‘Our partnership with Einride not only increases the level of service for our tenants, but adds functionality to our properties, which allows us to generate new value for society and to contribute to the transformation of a sector where every initiative makes a big difference’, explains Catena’s Head of Business and Property, Johan Franzén.

‘By offering charging services that are fully integrated with Einride's platform at Catena’s strategically located properties, we will be able to facilitate more businesses with their transition toward more efficient and sustainable transport solutions. The partnership allows for us to support a faster transition to electrification and to contribute to the decarbonisation of the sector’, explains Mathias Wiecher, General Manager Energy & Charging Infrastructure at Einride.

The partnership entails that Catena will finance and own the charging stations. Einride will be responsible for day-to-day operations and digital integration to ensure that the infrastructure is utilised smoothly and efficiently.
