Catena is to construct a new, efficient logistics facility adjacent to the Katrineholm logistics centre to be leased to PostNord.

3 April 2019, 3:00 p.m.

The newly constructed facility will comprise about 2,000 square metres with associated office space and areas for vehicle parking and marshalling. Construction will take place at Catena’s Sothönan 3 property, which is adjacent to the Katrineholm logistics centre, a modern node and an excellent location for cargo flows where goods transported by rail and truck can be handled efficiently.

“We are very pleased to be entrusted with deepening our already successful cooperation with PostNord at another of Catena’s strategic logistics locations. The location and conditions are optimal for their operations and needs,” says Maths Carreman, Regional Manager at Catena.

PostNord offers communications and logistics solutions to, from and within the Nordic region, and also handles postal services to private individuals and companies in Sweden and Denmark. Each year, PostNord delivers more than 170 million packages to the 25 million inhabitants of the Nordic region, as well as to 2 million companies.

“With e-commerce parcels increasing in number while letters become fewer, PostNord constantly monitors how it works to meet the new needs and expectations of its customers. We look forward to working with Catena on new, more appropriate premises in Katrineholm,” says Agnes Karlsson, Regional Manager at PostNord.

Construction will commence after the summer of 2019 and the lease will extend over a period of ten years.
