Catena and Nowaste Logistics have been allocated all of the land at the Välluv industrial site in Helsingborg. Efficient, sustainable logistics facilities focusing on innovative solutions will be built at the site.

20 October 2021, 9.00 a.m.

The land concerned is located immediately adjacent to the E6 motorway, covers approximately 160,000 m2 and has been designated for industrial purposes by the municipality. In competition with 11 other tenders, the proposal submitted jointly by Catena and Nowaste won the contest announced by the City of Helsingborg.

Logistics property company Catena will develop, own and manage the logistics facilities that the companies jointly seek to build at site, while Nowaste Logistics, a leading player in third-party logistics, will conduct operations there. Catena and Nowaste Logistics envision the site being used efficiently and offering an aesthetically pleasing design that takes good advantages of the opportunities and attains a superior standard in terms of sustainable solutions. The buildings will be certified in accordance with BREEAM-SE to be robust and resilient, with innovative energy solutions, including photovoltaic cells. The objective is to achieve a net zero loss in terms of biodiversity.

“For a long time, the Helsingborg region, with its proximity to key infrastructure, its population reach and its skills profile, has been highly attractive from a logistics perspective. It is gratifying that we can now continue to grow in the area alongside our tenant Nowaste, who is as ambitious as we are – particularly with regard to sustainability,” says Jörgen Eriksson, CEO of Catena.

“Nowaste Logistics is continuing its initiative to become the Nordic region’s leading logistics company. We see the Helsingborg region as an important logistics position that can, in the long term, open up 300-350 job opportunities. Together with Catena, we intend to develop smart and energy-efficient logistics properties that can contribute to a more sustainable society,” says Johan Kallin, CEO of Nowaste Logistics.

Nowaste Logistics already conducts operations at a number of Catena properties in Helsingborg, including several facilities at Logistics Position Tostarp.
