DABmotion for easy digital radio upgrades
The all new DABmotion DAB1001 interface is a wireless digital radio conversion kit that can seamlessly upgrade you existing car audio system.
The kit, which works straight out of the box, comprises a hide away ‘black box’ interface, a sleek user control and a high performance antenna. Once fitted, DABmotion DAB1001 enhances the existing FM-RDS radio to deliver high quality digital reception through the existing audio system, so you can get all the choice and benefit of digital listening on the move!

DAB1001 is very quick to set up and operate and is supplied with simple fitting instructions. It scores well on versatility; the hide away interface is just 112mm x 86mm x 23mm, so it will fit easily in the glovebox or behind the dash. There’s no requirement to connect to the vehicle’s CAN Bus system so installation is straightforward. Power can be via an accessory socket (plug in 12V power supply) or hardwire as part of a professional install.
The DABmotion DAB1001 arrived last month and is available to buy online now at £149.99 inc VAT, or you can contact to find a local installer via the website too. In this case, expect to pay around £200 inc VAT fully fitted.
Digital Radio UK, the organisation working with stakeholders and government to coordinate the migration to DAB, say government are preparing to announce a future switchover later this year. Switchover happens once share of listening reaches 50% and population coverage is 97%. Both have been rising quickly; over 35% of all radio listening is digital and population coverage tops 94%.
