Practical Classics discovers the Dynamat difference

Celsus, the European distributor of Dynamat, wowed classic car enthusiasts on the Practical Classics stand with the market leading sound deadening and thermal barrier products during the Restoration and Classic Car Show in Birmingham.

Demonstrating Dynamat’s quick and easy peel-and-stick application in a Jensen Interceptor, the Dynamat fitting team installed Dynamat Xtreme and Dynaliner on the live stage to an audience of classic car restorers and owners.

The barn find was stripped back to bare metal and re-sprayed prior to installation and show goers watched as the material was applied with its simple peel-and-stick application.

Dynamat Xtreme will cut road noise by up to 80% while Dynaliner will reduce heat transfer by up to 70%. At just 1.65mm thick, Dynamat is easy to shape and fits the contours of any car.

Dynamat’s butyl chemical formula delivers up ten times more sound deadening than other similar bitumen asphalt products used in the industry, with the added benefit of a significant weight saving compared to other products.

“A restored classic car often looks great, runs great but still feels feel like an old car, unless you use Dynamat,” explains Chris Bennett of Dynamat. “Fit Dynamat Xtreme and it will instantly feel tighter, quieter and will give that reassuring sense of good build quality, just like a modern car.

“Dynaliner is the ultimate insulator and is designed to fit on top of Dynamat Xtreme. Its closed cell foam technology does not absorb water or oil, unlike many other products like wadding or foam that can absorb water and rust the car from the inside out.

“As always, the reaction was of amazement. We left one door without Dynamat material so everyone could see, feel and hear the difference it really does make with a reassuring vault-like click when you shut the door.”
