CESA, CEDA and FCSI raise £2,000 for Hospitality Action

Competition on the track was fierce at the Joint Industry Go Karting Day at Daytona, Milton Keynes, on 1st July 2015.  It was the hottest day of the year and, despite the soaring temperatures and the need to be fully suited up to race, the drivers stayed in good cheer.  However, according to the venue, they broke the Daytona record for drinking – soft drinks only, of course.

The event was organised by CESA, with CEDA and the FCSI, and attracted teams from 15 companies, including manufacturers, distributors and consultants.

The podium saw the Mechline team take the winner’s award, with First Choice’s two teams coming second and third. More importantly, as a result of the day’s fundraising, the event raised £2,000 for Hospitality Action, the charity that offers vital assistance to people who work, or have worked, in hospitality in the UK and who find themselves in crisis.

“The day was not only fun and exciting, it was also a great opportunity to do some serious networking,” says Simon Frost, chair of CESA. “I’d like to thank everyone who took part and helped raise funds for a very worthwhile cause.”

The day started with breakfast followed by a full briefing by circuit staff. The three-hour endurance event gave everybody plenty of opportunity to drive.

The companies involved included:

Catering Insight

Chiller Box Ltd.

Commercial Catering Spares

Die-Pat Divisions Ltd

Eileen Say Catering Equipment Ltd

First Choice Catering Spares

Foster Refrigerator

Haus Marketing and Distribution Ltd

I Grunwerg Ltd

Jestic
