TORONTO, 6 July 2010 – Cision, the leading provider of software, services and tools for the media and public relations industry, today announced enhancements to its MediaSource® Monitoring (MSM) online PR services delivery dashboard. The software enables communicators to more easily manage monitoring of breaking news, and search archived broadcast and wire content.

MediaSource Monitoring’s new Self-Serve feature lets users easily create or change keyword-driven print, online, broadcast and wire coverage monitoring criteria. Using its set-up wizard, PR professionals can quickly refine or re-focus media monitoring activity through just a few clicks of a mouse.

FastFinder, the new keyword-driven archive search tool in MSM, quickly locates and compiles a comprehensive list of broadcast and wire media coverage that has appeared over the past 24 months. FastFinder’s set-up wizard lets users search for coverage simply by typing in keywords. Results are delivered immediately and can be sorted, selected, and integrated into professional coverage review reports to share via email with colleagues, executives and clients.

  • Hotlinks from print monitoring to the outlet’s online edition, allowing MSM users to determine if their story has appeared on the outlet’s website to read and respond to online comments, look up other published coverage, and gain a clearer understanding of the outlet’s editorial positioning and overall tone.
  • Thumbnail Views of Broadcast Coverage, providing a visual reference of broadcast coverage. By clicking on the thumbnail, MSM users can stream the video.
