Comprehensive, Global Journalist Twitter Monitoring Tool Now Offers More Country and Topic Feeds, Plus Klout Score Influencer Metrics

CHICAGO, October 29, 2010 –Cision, the leading provider of PR software, services and tools for the media and public relations industry, today announced significant enhancements to JournalistTweets, the free Twitter monitoring tool that enables PR professionals and the media to aggregate, sort and track feeds from thousands of journalists around the world.

JournalistTweets will now stream content from France, the Netherlands, Spain, South Africa and India – as well as from the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, Portugal, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Australia. JournalistTweets is the most comprehensive journalist Twitter monitoring tool of its kind, tracking thousands of journalists in 15 countries on five continents.

In addition to more country and topic feeds, JournalistTweets can now gauge the relative impact of social media influencers by integrating the Klout Score, which measures overall online influence. The Klout Score, from Klout, uses over 25 variables to measure True Reach (engaged followers and friends), Amplification Probability (likelihood of generating retweets or online conversation) and Network Score (number of influential followers). Users can rate individual tweets and search for and view the most popular tweets for a given topic or geographic region.

“With JournalistTweets, journalists and communicators can make new industry connections, find new sources for story research, and better understand the breadth and nature of breaking global media coverage,” said Brett Safron, Cision’s Senior Vice President, Business Development.

“Its new influencer metrics help determine which online voices are having the most impact.  JournalistTweets is an indispensable productivity and reputation management tool for communicators, journalists and influencers who want to maintain a strong corporate, product or personal brand,” Safron said.

"With more and more traditional journalists moving to the micropublishing medium (Twitter, Facebook), and with more and more user-generated content from non-professional journalists taking on journalistic qualities, it just makes sense to understand the quality of content delivered in social media channels. The Klout Score is an impartial judgment on the quality of an individual publisher's ability to turn out engaging content and drive readers to action,” noted Matt Thomson, Klout’s VP of Platform.
