Clavister Joins Wind River Titanium Cloud Ecosystem to Accelerate Deployment of NFV Solutions
Partnership will provide NFV*-based carrier grade security solutions to Mobile Network Operators to protect networks and subscriber data against attacks
Clavister (Nasdaq: CLAV), a leader in high-performance network security, announced it has joined the Wind River Titanium Cloud ecosystem, a program dedicated to accelerating the deployment of solutions for Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).
By validating and pre-integrating its hardware and software offerings with Wind River Titanium Server, Titanium Cloud ecosystem partner Clavister will optimize its solutions for deployment, accelerating time-to-market for service providers and telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs) deploying security infrastructure based on NFV. Service providers and TEMs can confidently select Clavister’s products knowing that they are pre-validated with Titanium Server and ready for deployment in live networks.
The partnership is a key component of Clavister’s strategy to deliver NFV carrier grade solutions to MNOs and will provide carrier grade network security for the transition to NFV addressing key business and technology challenges including:
- Enabling mobile edge cloud, LTE-Backhaul and Packet Core utilization and delivery
- Protect top-line revenue during NFV migration and minimize OPEX to fully leverage the benefits of NFV
- Accelerated deployments of new services offering a distinct competitive advantage to gain market share
- Maximized flexibility through adoption of open solutions
“By using the Wind River Titanium Server, we can now reach the same performance levels with accelerated vSwitch technology that was previously only possible by using virtual network functions. Using Wind River accelerated vSwitch technology allows significantly increased system flexibility compared to using virtual functions,” commented James Byström VP global sales at Clavister. “As a result, the partnership will enable us to deliver accelerated deployments of our NFV security solutions to the MNO market and solidify our position as a market leader in carrier-grade network security.”
“By working with Clavister through the Titanium Cloud ecosystem, we will be able to offer our joint customers a pre-validated carrier grade network security solution that can be quickly provisioned,” said Charlie Ashton, senior director of business development for networking solutions at Wind River. “Our partnership enables the efficient deployment of NFV network security, bringing a huge competitive advantage to service providers.”
Titanium Server is a carrier grade NFV infrastructure software solution that is designed to meet the stringent "always on" requirements of the telecom industry. With Titanium Server as the NFV infrastructure software foundation, the telecom industry can take full advantage of rapid service deployment while ensuring the Carrier Grade uptime and strict reliability mandated by telecom networks. Titanium Server is based on open software standards including carrier grade Wind River Linux, real-time Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM), carrier grade plugins for OpenStack®, Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK), and accelerated virtual switching, all optimized for Intel architecture platforms.
