Clavister Partners with LeverTech to Develop Advanced Security Solutions for Fast-growing Brazilian Market
Partnership’s solutions for Government and private sector will meet demand for solutions complying with Brazil’s Internet confidentiality and security legislation, in sector worth over $1bn annually
Clavister (Nasdaq: CLAV), a leader in high-performance network security and LeverTech, the Brasília-based leader in advanced IT solutions, have extended their partnership to meet the growing demand for information security solutions in Brazil. The country has one of the fastest-growing IT markets globally, with an IT security market worth over $1bn per year.
LeverTech has already deployed Clavister security solutions to Brazil’s Ministry of Sports and other ministries, to protect networks in preparation for the FIFA World Cup which starts in June, and for the 2016 Olympic Games. Clavister and LeverTech have now demonstrated their first jointly-developed solution for the Brazilian market, an advanced cloud security appliance with integrated SIP voice PBX that is expected to launch later in 2014.
The new solution was launched at an event held at the Residence of the Ambassador of Sweden, Magnus Robach, and was attended by several representatives of the Brazilian Government with interest in secure data and voice communications. Mr Robach commented: “This cooperation is an excellent example of successful technology transfer between Sweden and Brazil. I believe it will make a significant contribution to ensuring safe, secure use of the Internet in Brazil, for both individuals and organisations.”
The new solution is a result of Clavister’s technology transfer partnership with Levertech, in which the companies collaborate to develop solutions meeting Brazil’s market-specific requirements, including auditing of IT products sold to Government organisations to ensure they have no ‘backdoors’ that could compromise data security.
Jim Carlsson, CEO of Clavister said: “Brazil is one of the world’s fastest-growing technology markets, and the country is leading the drive for Internet security following the revelations of widespread surveillance by other countries. This creates strong business opportunities for us to service this market. Through our partnership with LeverTech, we will accelerate development of solutions that protect organisations’ data assets against interception by criminal or state-backed external parties. Clavister never has, and never will, include backdoors in any of its solutions.”
Helder Gaudencio, CEO of LeverTech said: “Clavister is one of few companies whose solutions meet the demands of Brazil’s new legislation, which requires that all networking products sold to the federal Government are audited to ensure they protect the confidentiality and integrity of information. We will continue working with Clavister and our partners to develop advanced security solutions to give complete protection to public and commercial organisations.”
